Alana joined the Thunderbolt Power Yoga team in 2016, after graduating from the Carly Grace Yoga School. Believing that the atmosphere of a studio really impacts your practice, Alana teaches and practices at Thunderbolt because of the environment its leadership team has cultivated. Encouraging growth, unity and uniqueness, the environment at TPY is what she loves most about the studio.
The glimmer in students’ eyes when they finally land a pose for the first time is her favorite part of teaching; seeing how hard students work and watching them progress in their practice is the most rewarding part.
Alana is an Atlanta native and graduate of Georgia College and State University. When not teaching or in dolphin, her favorite pose, Alana can be found playing with Bear, her Pomeranian, and spending time with her husband Robby.

I decided to get my RYT-200 certification as soon as the opportunity presented itself, and I graduated in May 2016. I wanted to further my personal practice and share my journey with others as well as have the amazing opportunity to learn from them.
After taking that wonderful year off, I have now been back in the corporate world for 5 months. While I enjoy the challenges of my career, I am pursuing it with more balance this go 'round. My daily yoga practice provides me the foundation and motivation to be my best version of me each and every day, and being able to teach yoga allows me to share the powerful, positive energy of this beautiful practice with a group of people seeking the same serenity that I am.

“Keep finding time to turn in, then extend your best self out into the world.” – that’s Laura’s mantra and how she closes each practice. After starting to practice at TPY in 2015, Laura was so inspired by the community that she enrolled in teacher training with Carly Grace Power Yoga School in early 2016. She has been teaching at TPY since mid-2016 and has continued her education by attending the Baptiste Institute Art of Assisting and by participating in advanced yoga workshops with renowned yogis like Kino MacGregor, Kerry Armstrong, Dana Trixie Flynn and Mitchell Bleier.
Inspired by the chance to bring a smile or moment of peace to someone who needs it, Laura cherishes the chance to get to know her students, many of whom she might never know outside of Thunderbolt.
A New Jersey native and graduate of Princeton University, Laura lives in Buckhead with her husband and her youngest son. When not in her favorite pose, half moon, you can find her restoring vintage houses and home decor.
